A Strong Start to the Season

It’s a brand-new season and after Saturday's fantastic 3-0 win over Swindon, it couldn't have started much better for our boys in blue.

Off the pitch, your Her Game Too team is also back and looking forward to what promises to be a busy 2026/27 season.

A Quick Update From Your Advocates

Your Her Game Too Advocates for the 2026/27 season are Kerry, Dawn, Sammy, Andrea and Abbey - and you can get to know the team a little better further down the page.

We've held our first Her Game Too meeting of the season and have plenty planned for the months ahead. Our focus remains on the same: supporting female supporters and making Boundary Park as welcoming and inclusive as possible, and ensuring you know where to turn if you ever need us.

A Heartfelt Farewell to Alison

As many of you know, Alison has stepped down as the Her Game Too Ambassador for Oldham Athletic. As her team, we were privileged to be part of everything she built and achieved over the past four years. We'll certainly miss having such a passionate ambassador leading the group, but we are determined to build on everything Alison started.

Alison, you are truly one in a million. We absolutely love and adore you, and we know you’re never too far away if we need you.

What’s Coming Up in the 2026/2027 Season

Making Match Days More Comfortable

We're continuing to work with the club to ensure free sanitary products are available in women's toilets, alongside the appropriate provision of sanitary bins across the ground. We continue to liaise with local businesses about supporting the free sanitary product initiative.

If you spot an issue with the provisions on a match day, please let us know so we can raise it with the club

International Women’s Day Fixture

Her Game Too will once again have a dedicated fixture for International Women’s Day. The date is still to be confirmed, but we will share updates as soon as we have them.

Annual Ladies Night Event

Our HGT Advocates, FLOs, and SLOs are already working behind the scenes to organise our annual Ladies Night Event. This has been a huge success for the past two years, and we have some fantastic ideas in the pipeline. The event will be free, with the date to be confirmed - keep an eye on our blogs for regular updates throughout the season.

Matchday Presence at Boundary Park

We are hoping to have more of a visible presence around Boundary Park on matchdays. We are currently exploring what this could look like and how we can make ourselves more accessible should anyone need support - or simply want to come and say hello. Once plans are finalised, we will share more details. In the meantime, you can always reach us on X, or speak to Pam Makin (OAFC Safeguarding Lead), who will happily direct you to one of us.

Supporting the Women’s Team

As Alison mentioned in her farewell blog, we will continue to work closely with our Women’s Team. We are hopeful that the team will have the opportunity to play at Boundary Park, and we are excited to share a “day in the life” vlog with Captain Abbey Rogers and the squad. Watch this space!

Celebrating the Women of Oldham Athletic

Over the past couple of seasons, our blog has featured some of the fantastic female away supporters who have visited Boundary Park to watch their teams play against Oldham Athletic, sharing their stories and what following their clubs means to them.

This season, we’re widening the spotlight to celebrate the women of Oldham Athletic – the incredible female supporters, staff and volunteers who are part of our club.

We want to tell their stories, hear about their experiences and celebrate the women who show up week in, week out.

If you - or someone you know - would like to be featured, we’d love to hear from you. Keep an eye on X throughout the season for opportunities to get involved.

Meet Your Advocates 💙

You know what we've got planned - now get to know the people behind it. We asked each of our advocates to answer a few quick-fire questions about Oldham, away days and the season ahead.

Kerry

🏟️ Favourite stadium (besides your own)?

Has to be Hill Dickenson Stadium currently — only because I can’t choose Boundary Park.

🥧 Top matchday snack?

Cheesy chips.

🚌 Home or away days?

Away days. I always enjoy our away crowd. I also love visiting new stadiums with my son, although it’s proving to be an expensive hobby of his!

👕 Your favourite past or present Oldham Athletic player and why?

James Norwood — because everyone knows I love James Norwood!!! For our women's team, I will have to say our very own Abbey Rogers. She is an exceptional captain, I am looking forward to their upcoming season.

⚽️ What match are you looking forward to this season and why?

Rochdale Away. It has always been a great atmosphere, and even better when we beat them.

💬 What are your hopes/wants for our HGT group for the 2026/2027 season?

To keep all our female fans safe and happy, and to continue promoting the Her Game Too campaign for our female supporters and players.

Dawn

🏟️ Favourite stadium (besides your own)?

None. There’s no topping BP.

🥧 Top matchday snack?

A pint.

🚌 Home or away days?

Away days — especially introducing my son to new grounds.

👕 Your favourite past or present Oldham Athletic player and why?

Sean Gregan. No explanation needed.

⚽️ What match are you looking forward to this season and why?

All of them!

💬 What are your hopes/wants for our HGT group for the 2026/2027 season?

To keep all of our female fans safe and happy.

Sammy

🏟️ Favourite stadium (besides your own)?

Ibrox 💙 — some atmosphere.

🥧 Top matchday snack?

Chips with curry sauce 🤤

🚌 Home or away days?

Home is where the heart is 💙

👕 Your favourite past or present Oldham Athletic player and why?

I would say Sean Gregan, but since Dawn already adores him, I’ll go with Lee Croft 😍 He is just a lovely bloke x

⚽️ What match are you looking forward to this season and why?

The one that gets us promoted 🥳

💬 What are your hopes/wants for our HGT group for the 2026/2027 season?

To engage more fans, help them understand what we are about, and welcome more supporters to Boundary Park.

Andrea

🏟️ Favourite stadium (besides your own)?

Wembley! Only been once and wow — what a game that was!

🥧 Top matchday snack?

Double quarter pounder cheeseburger in RRE.

🚌 Home or away days?

I love either, to be honest. I don’t get to many away days these days due to family illness and having no one to go with.

👕 Your favourite past or present Oldham Athletic player and why?

Just one? I have a few… Davis Keillor‑Dunn, Reagan Ogle, Manny Monthe, Mike Milligan, Richard Jobson — I could go on! All for different reasons.

⚽️ What match are you looking forward to this season and why?

Definitely the one that gets us promotion!

💬 What are your hopes/wants for our HGT group for the 2026/2027 season?

I’d like us to have a more visible presence on matchdays, more event evenings, and to get more women involved in sharing ideas about improvements that could be made.

Abbey

🏟️ Favourite stadium (besides your own)?

Bloomfield Road — I have lots of memories watching my uncle play there.

🥧 Top matchday snack?

Hotdog.

🚌 Home or away days?

Home days, as we go as a family with my grandad.

👕 Your favourite past or present Oldham Athletic player and why?   I would say myself, but don’t think that’s allowed 😂

⚽️ What match are you looking forward to this season and why?

Derby Day.

💬 What are your hopes/wants for our HGT group for the 2026/2027 season?

To keep pushing inclusivity in the game and to attract more young female fans to start watching.

We want to hear from you

Her Game Too is here for Oldham Athletics' female supporters, so we want you to be a part of what we do. If you'd like to feature in our Women of Oldham Athletic blog series, have an idea for the blog, want to get involved with one of our events or simply want to say hello, get in touch with us on X, or grab us at Boundary Park.

Here's to a brilliant 2026/27 season. Come on Latics 💙
