The OAFC Her Game Too team speak to a visiting fan ahead of every home game to get a better insight into their team and their love of football. This week, we were delighted to speak to Louise and we can't wait to welcome her to BP.
Name: Lou Brown
Team: Scunthorpe United
How long have you been supporting Scunthorpe?
Over 35 years
What's your favourite memory as a Scunthorpe fan?
Promotion to the Championship - a very distant memory.
What's it like being a Scunthorpe fan?
Feeling every emotion going at the minute, it’s heartbreaking seeing a club I’ve supported over 35 years like it is.
What's the furthest you've travelled to watch your team?
Leyton Orient or Maidenhead. Will be Torquay when we play them away.
Who's your favourite player?
Past player - Andy Butler.
Current player - Andrew Boyce/Joe Nuttall
What's your score prediction for the game?
Hopefully a win! But being realistic, would go 1-1
Where do you think you'll finish in the league this season?
Was hoping mid table or just below play offs, but I’m dreading the end of the season already.
What do you think of Her Game Too?
It is a good campaign which raises the influence women have on sport, promoting equality. I’ve been told loads of times I know nothing about football (even though I played for Scunny Ladies in my younger years). I’m bringing up my own daughters and nieces how I was with my Dad and Grandad and to enjoy the game as it should be despite the inequality. We aren’t just watching it for the bums and legs!
And now, time for something a little different...
Both Scunthorpe & Oldham Athletic were relegated to the national league last season. Oldham are slightly behind with match results.
Scunthorpe wins - 21
Drawn - 19
Oldham wins 17
We checked in with some of the Her Game Too Latics teams to see what they predict for tomorrow night's game -
Alison - I can see positive change in the squad already, I do think it's going to take time. Especially with the injuries, but i have confidence for our future now. I'm hoping for a first Unsworth win tomorrow and a good one at that. 3-0 Oldham.
Dawn - Although Saturday ended in heartbreak, there were definite positives to take away. I could see a vast difference in the way we were playing and to be ahead for the majority of the game was a clear sign of improvement. We just looked hungrier and more willing to get stuck in (in the first half at least). It might come back to bite me. but I reckon 2-0 :)
Sammy - Two teams both relegated, both not had the best of starts. Some real positives to take from Saturdays game I'm going for a 1-1 draw.
Andrea - You can't score a goal If you don't take a shot! We'll be taking MANY SHOTS! 3-0 victory for Oldham!
Kerry - 2-1 to oldham - the squad is looking good :)
