WELCOME TO BP...Amy Davies - Content Creator for (and fan of) Wrexham AFC

The OAFC Her Game Too Team speak to a visiting fan ahead of every home game to find out more about their club and their love of football.

Name - Amy Davies

Team - Wrexham AFC

Can you tell us something special about your hometown that we may not know?

Wrexham was a stop on the world's first scheduled passenger helicopter service, which ran between Liverpool, Wrexham and Cardiff between June 1950 and March 1951...I googled this 😂

How far have you travelled to watch your team?

Portugal for pre-season 2019

What got you in to football ?

I've always been into football from when I was a kid. I had season ticket at Everton for 7 years when I was younger. I got back into playing football after I recovered from breaking my hip in 2016 and then started playing for Wrexham Women in 2018.

I now love filming the action of the games from behind a camera instead 🙂

Favourite memory as a fan?

Winning the FA Trophy in 2013 at Wembley has got to be up there.

How do you feel about your new owners?

The new owners are great. It's amazing to have two chairmen who care so much about not only the club but are also really invested in the whole community.

Predictions for this season for your team ?

I think we're all hoping for that top spot for promotion!

Player for us to look out for?

He goes by the name of Elliot Lee...💃

Predictions for todays game?

3-0 Wrexham

What’s it like working in mens football?

It's great. I've worked in mens and womens football and been made to feel welcome in both.

What would you say to any women and girls who are thinking about getting into football playing/fan?

Don't hesitate! I stopped playing football from when I was 11 as I was bullied for being a tomboy. Girl's football wasn't very popular back then, so it's amazing to see how much more popular the female game is getting. Especially with England Women winning the Euros, it will hopefully inspire young girls and women to get into the game.

Did you know...

Wrexham is the third oldest professional club IN THE WORLD. Wrexham was founded in 1864, making it the oldest in Wales.

You can learn more about Wrexham AFC and new owners," Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds in 'Welcome to Wrexham' documentary.

From Hollywood to Wales, from the pitch to the locker room, and the front office to the pub, the docuseries will track Rob and Ryan's crash course in football club ownership and the inextricably connected fates of a team and a town counting on two actors to bring some serious hope and change to a community that could use it.
