⚽ Her Game Too: Visiting Fan Q&A

Each home game, we shine a spotlight on a female fan from the visiting team, giving them a chance to share their story and love for the game.

This week, we spoke to Christina Andrews – a proud Bromley FC supporter – ahead of their visit to Boundary Park. Here's what she had to say about football, fandom, and favourite memories.

🔵 Name:

Christina Andrews

🟠 Club:

Bromley FC

📍 Hometown:

Sevenoaks, Kent

🗣️ Q&A

1. Tell us an interesting or unusual fact about your hometown or city.

The Beatles filmed the video for Strawberry Fields Forever in Knole Park Sevenoaks.

2. What got you into football – and do you remember your first match?

I moved houses when I was 6 and I made new friends who were into football so I had no choice. My first ever game was at Selhurst Park as my school class were invited as guests. I don’t really remember much about it other than being ridiculed as I wouldn’t put on a Palace Shirt as they weren’t my team.

3. Why did you choose to support your club?

I used to attend a lot of Premier League games and travelled around the UK and Europe but it got to the point where I couldn’t sit amongst supporters who didn’t even watch the game but just wanted to be the ones who sing the most offensive chant. I couldn’t tolerate it anymore so I was taken to Hayes Lane and I was hooked from day 1. These were real supporters.

4. Who was your footballing hero growing up?

Jamie Redknapp but probably not for football reasons 😂

5. What's your favourite football memory as a fan (or player)?

Being promoted to League Two. We had started the season dreadfully but we got to the play off final The Bromley Way.

6. Do you travel to away games often? What’s been your favourite ground to visit?

I get to every away game I can and only have two left in League Two to visit. My favourite ground is Notts County. Great stadium and great atmosphere.

7. What’s the best chant or song your fans sing?

Every Saturday we follow………

8. Have you noticed attitudes toward female fans or the women’s game changing?

Not really. I think people accept there is always a place for the women’s game. I’ve never felt threatened or uncomfortable at any game for being a woman. Only because I’m the opposition which isn’t relevant to my gender.

9. Matchday traditions – any lucky charms or rituals?

Score predictions have to be done en route to the game. Not before and not when we are there.

10. If your club were a film or song, what would it be and why?

Bromley Boys is already a film and a book however the song would be My Way. We do it The Bromley Way. We aren’t the richest or have the biggest attendances but we have a special something that makes us a tricky club to play against.

11. How do you feel Bromley has started the season?

As I type this we are unbeaten with two wins and two draws and sitting in a play off spot. For our second season in the league I’m delighted with how it’s started.

12. Player for Oldham to watch out for?

Michael Cheek recently awarded PFA player’s player for League Two, was in the League Two team of the season and won the golden boot last season

13. Where do you see Bromley finishing?

6th

⚡ Quick Fire Round

🏟️ Favourite stadium (besides your own)?

Wembley. Gave me my best football memories

🥧 Top matchday snack?

Pie and chips

🚌 Home or away days?

Away days

📺 VAR – yes or no?

No to VAR

👕 Dream player to sign for your club?

Virgil van Dijk
