Each home game, we shine a spotlight on a female fan from the visiting team, giving them a chance to share their story and love for the game.
This week, we spoke to Nicola – a proud Fleetwood Town FC fan. Nicola attends both home and away games, as well as working there for the past 17 years. Ahead of the team’s visit to Boundary Park. Here's what she had to say about football, fandom, and sharing her favourite memories with us.

Tell us an interesting or unusual fact about your hometown or city.
World famous Fisherman's Friend lozenges are made in Fleetwood.
What got you into football – and do you remember your first match?
I first went with my late Grandad as a child but I can't remember my first match.
Why did you choose to support your club?
FTFC are my local club and less than 3 mins walk from my house.

Talk to us about your role working within the club?
I have had various roles in the 17 years working at FTFC including; working behind the bar and ticket collections. I now run the VIP/Hospitality reception on match days.
What has been your favourite role working for Fleetwood Town?
The role I'm doing now is my favourite.
Who was your footballing hero growing up?
Kenny Dalglish.
What's your favourite football memory as a fan?
My two favourite moments/memories are; winning at Wembley in the playoffs against Burton Albion in 2014, winning us a promotion to League 1. My other is beating Blackpool for the first time.

Do you travel to away games often? What’s been your favourite league 2 ground to visit?
I don't go away as often as I used to, but I tend to go to away games closer to home or cup matches now.
I didn't miss a home or away game for 12 years.
My favourite League 2 ground would be Salford.
What’s the best chant or song your fans sing?
Not the best song but sticks in your head for hours...the Rooney song. “He's in your head, in your head Rooney Rooney”.
Have you noticed attitudes toward female fans or the women’s game changing?
Attitudes have definitely changed especially after the success of the Lionesses. It is also now accepted that females can go to matches on their own as they enjoy the game too.

Match day traditions – any lucky charms on rituals?
I always wear the same perfume
If your club were a film or song, what would it be and why?
Don't Stop Believing - we have a population of 27,000 so we would never have believed we would be in the EFL never mind getting a promotion to League 1. I believe we can get there again.
How do you feel Fleetwood Town are doing this season?
We are doing ok but unfortunately hindered by injuries.
Any particular player for us to watch out for?
Ethan Ennis

Where do you think you will finish in the league?
I think we will finish 14th.
How confident are Fleetwood fans going into this fixture after our draw on the 23.08.25?
Fairly confident but anything can happen on the day.
How has James Norwood settled into the team prior to his recent injury?
Norwood has settled well. He has even been known to do a bit of Karaoke in the fans bar!!
How are the fans feeling after Pete Wilds departure from the club?
The majority of fans were sad to see Pete leave, we wish him well on his new endeavours.
How has Matt Lawlor settled in as Interim manager?
Matt has settled well, he's been around the club for many years so has adapted well to his new role. We wish him luck for the rest of the season.
