WELCOME TO BP...Eastleigh fan Jen Middleton

The OAFC Her Game Too team speak to a visiting fan ahead of every home game to get a better insight into their team.

Name - Jen Middleton

Team - Eastleigh FC

Can you tell us something special about your hometown that we may not know?

The Spitfire aeroplane was built in Southampton and first flown from Eastleigh Aerodrome, now Southampton Airport, hence why we are called "The Spitfires".

How far have you travelled to watch your team?

The furthest I've travelled so far is to watch Eastleigh play Wrexham.

What got you in to football?

My dad played my whole childhood so my weekends were spent in club houses watching him play.

Favourite memory as a fan?

Eastleigh winning is always a great memory but I have to say our trip to Wrexham and the amazing response and welcome we got from fans will always be a fantastic memory.

Predictions this season for your team ?

New strong young team so I definitely see us in a top ten position.

Player for us to look out for?

Has to be fans favourite Vinnie Harper

Predictions for todays game?

Got to back my team so I'll go 2-1 Eastleigh

What would you say to any women and girls who are thinking about getting into football playing/fan?

I think the Lionesses have made womens football popular and current again which is great but definitely here in the National League there needs to be more women's voices chanting at games.

I think the Her Game Too campaign is making football more easy for woman to access and that's fantastic! Football isn't just for men and I think girls should embrace the passion of the game and realise we have a voice in football and it's now our time to be heard.

And finally, did you know

After the club gained its official nickname the club had an irregular mascot, Sammy the Spitfire, who was a dog. However, in 2015 a new mascot was selected, Brooksy the Bear, in honour of Mr Derik Brooks, who founded the club in 1946.
